Simple to prepare and an authentic Newfoundland menu item that will turn heads at your next dinner party. These Cod Cheeks are arguably the tastiest part of the fish and packed IQF (individually quick frozen) for your convenience, so that each and every cheek comes out of the box individually with no frozen clusters! Basic cooking tips (cod cheeks can be used in many different dishes):
- Let cheeks thaw and pat dry with a paper towel
- Place them in a bowl and mix with flour, salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder (be creative and use whatever spices you like!)
- Heat some oil in a skillet and turn to medium to high heat.
- Add cheeks and fresh garlic and cook on each side until golden brown or when they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees.
- Optionally sprinkle a little extra salt and/or lemon juice.... and serve!
