Preparation tips:
One very simple and enjoyable way to enjoy these east coast mussels is with a wine and garlic sauce, served with a side of toasted bread.
1. Using a large pot, combine one cup of white wine (preferably sauvignon blanc), a half cup of heavy cream (optional), 3 tablespoons of butter, your desired amount of salt and freshly ground pepper, 1/4 cup of olive oil, 2 garlic cloves and whatever other spices your taste buds desire. Bring mixture to a boil.
2. Add in mussels and place lid on the pot to begin steaming.
3) After 4-5 minutes, the mussels are ready to serve. Don't forget to dip your bread in the sauce for an added treat!
